How does healing work?

Healing is the restoring of a sense of “wholeness” in which the client is restored to their natural state of balance within the body, emotions, mind and spirit. Spiritual healing relates to the energies which are channelled through the body.  The healer creates a sacred, still place linking the client to the universal source of peace and love, and then channels that energy through his or her hands to the client with the intention of bringing about a sense of balance and wellbeing.  Healing is all about the intention of the heart, a willingness to let go and release whatever is self-limiting or unhealthy, and openness to Love.

When there is an imbalance of energy in the body, we become dysfunctional and perhaps physically or mentally ill.  Healing attempts to restore the balance in the mind and body, and the state of physical and mental well-being; it seeks to promote health, relaxation and peace of mind.

Healing is also a process of spiritual reconnection, a comforting sense of “coming home” that clients experience by being held in a loving healing space, that brings a deep sense of harmony, and facilitates the body’s own natural ability to restore and repair cellular function.

Spiritual healing is gentle, holistic and non-invasive. It is performed in a peaceful setting with or without therapeutic touch and promotes healing on a physical and emotional level.  It aims to relieve stress or pain brought about by the increasing demands of day to day living or sickness.

You don’t have to be physically sick in order to benefit from healing; you may simply wish to have more clarity in your life, or need a boost of motivation or confidence. Some want a space of peace and quiet with a listening ear, others look for teaching in contemplation or meditation. Some will come for hands on healing or Journey work – I tailor the approach to the individual needs. A personal consultation/healing session will help you to begin the process of inner enquiry:  In what area of my life am I being challenged? Why am I not getting better? What am I holding onto? What would bring me to Peace?

A wise man should consider that his health is the greatest of human blessings, and learn how by his own thought to derive benefit from his illness.”
